Abstract

Pingify is a digital identity layer for the physical world, connecting real-world items to their digital owners through customisable, functional NFTs paired with a secure, decentralised messaging interface.

Each NFT contains encrypted metadata stored on-chain, accessible via a shareable URL. This URL can be embedded in various mediums—most effectively NFC tags, which offer a low-cost, user-friendly, and space-efficient way to read and write information to a device.

Pingify operates on decentralised infrastructure, leveraging the Polygon Network for logic and storage, and Push Protocol for communication. Ensuring a truly transparent, autonomous functionality with long-term resilience.

While decentralised identity enables use cases such as lost-and-found, proof of ownership, and peer-to-peer lending, Pingify's broader mission is to create an open, modular ecosystem where everyday users can benefit from blockchain-backed item identity without needing technical knowledge or crypto expertise.

This document presents the rationale, technical design, and planned trajectory of Pingify’s decentralised identity infrastructure.
