Consumer support

A barbecue manufacturer “Bills Grills" uses Pingify to assign a structured digital identity to each of its products. Each barbecue is minted as an NFT under the namespace “BILLS_GRILLS”, with subcategories reflecting product lines. For example, a specific grill is identified as:

BILL_BBQS.BETA.1342

Here, “BETA” denotes the model line, and 1342 is the unique product ID. Later, the company identifies a manufacturing defect affecting the hinge component of the Beta series. Rather than contacting each customer manually or relying on proof of purchase, BILLS_GRILLS updates the shared metadata at the namespace level (BILLS_GRILLS.BETA), adding a support note that includes instructions for ordering a free replacement hinge. This update becomes immediately visible to all holders of affected NFTs in their Pingify app, without requiring the manufacturer to access any user data. Each affected owner can read the update, verify it via the product’s digital identity, and take action through a secure link embedded in the note. This demonstrates scalable, user-respecting product support using Pingify’s on-chain metadata and namespace architecture—no emails, no data collection, no intermediaries.
