Lost and found

A commuter attaches a Pingify NFC tag to their backpack, linking it to it NFT conterpart. One day, the bag is accidentally left behind at a train station, the commuter realises and adds a short note to the NFT asking to leave it at a station and updates it on the blockchain. A bystander scans the embedded NFC tag using their smartphone, which opens a browser-based Pingify interface. Without requiring an app or personal account, the finder is able to read the custom message and send a message directly to the item's owner using the NFT’s secure, decentralized messaging channel.

The owner is notified within minutes, see’s which station it was left at and can collect it, all while maintaining full privacy and without exposing personal contact details.
